The basic cost-per-use formula
Cost per use helps compare items with different prices and lifespans. A cheaper product can cost more over time if it wears out quickly, while an expensive item may provide better value when used often.

Include more than the purchase price

Compare two options

When the number of uses is uncertain, calculate a low and high estimate. If you expect to use an item between 40 and 80 times, show both results. This prevents an optimistic guess from making every purchase look economical.
